Methods of Teething Pain Relief
If your baby is teething and you want to find teething pain relief that you can use to help them, then there are several different options in particular you should know about. Although there is really no form of teething pain relief that is going to be able to fully relieve your baby of the pain of teething, they all help in their own way to relieve the pain as best as possible, and this is what really matters.
Types of Teething Pain Relief
One type of teething pain relief in particular that you can use is to use a child teething ring. These are beneficial because the coldness of them provides a numbing effect, however once the teeth begin to actually erupt you want to make sure that you do not use liquid-filled teething rings, because the new teeth can puncture them.
You want to make sure that any teething toy or product that you give your child is not going to be a choking hazard to them, and never hook it onto a necklace and put it around the child’s neck, as this can easily result in harm and even strangulation.
Another option is topical medicines, which are used to anesthetize the sore gums, however for this you will want to speak to your family doctor first, so that they can recommend the best medicine, because you do not want to use one that is going to harm your baby. You can also just use your own hands and gently massage your baby’s sore and swollen gums, and this works by alleviating the tooth pain by equalizing the pressure on the gums as the tooth below is pressing upwards.
When Teething Pain Relief is not Enough
If you feel as though you have tried everything and nothing seems to be working, then you will want to make an appointment with your doctor so that you can speak to them about this, however you need to realize that the teething process is different for each child, and so while some experience no pain at all, others have a horrific time with it.
Sometimes there is really nothing that you can do besides help them the best that you can and wait it out, and although it can be extremely difficult to watch your child have to suffer through so much pain, it is only a phase and once the teeth are in the child will not have to deal with it anymore.
