Infant teething is a normal process in the development of teeth in the mouth of newborns which takes place when they first begin to cut their teeth. For more than five thousand years, mothers have been concerned with the health of their babies when new deciduous teeth emerge in their little one’s mouths, and some babies may not experience any trouble in this regard while for others the condition can lead to discomfort and a lot of pain.

Sometimes, infant teething may occur overnight and other times it may be a long process that can also be very hurtful. There could also be seen lumps in the gums that last a few weeks, or there may not be any visible clue to show that the baby is indeed teething. Nevertheless, it may be somewhat hereditary and if parents teethed late, the baby too would probably do the same.

To ease the pain in case your infant’s teething turns hurtful, you can do a number of things such as using teething rings and feeding the infant teething biscuits. Sometimes these solutions work and other times they may not. So, it is better to take the advice of an expert or pediatrician before proceeding further.
